Kameron Marlowe — Granny's Got A Garden (For G'maw Jan)

Granny's got a garden and an ol' porch swing
A park avenue Buick underneath a dogwood tree
Grocery list on a phone bill
Somethin' growin' in the window sill
'Cause granny's got a garden

She got a concert ticket in a picture frame
From Woodstock '69, said she saw Jimi play
'Twas one hell of a party
Yeah, that's where it all started
Granny's got a garden

She's got Jesus in her heart
And Willie in her soul
She keeps sun drop in the fridge
Cornbread coolin' on the stove
But when her back gets to hurtin'
You might smell somethin' burnin'
Granny's got a garden

Wheel of fortune on the TV
And crochet on the couch
Bowl of candy on the coffee table
Never ever seems to run out
The best cobbler in the county
But there's somethin' 'bout her brownies
'Cause granny's got a garden

She's got Jesus in her heart
And Willie in her soul
She keeps sun drop in the fridge
Cornbread coolin' on the stove
When her back gets to hurtin'
You might smell somethin' burnin'
'Cause granny's got a garden

She's got Jesus in her heart
And Willie in her soul
She keeps sun drop in that fridge
Cornbread coolin' on that stove
When her back gets to hurtin'
You might smell somethin' burnin'
It's a different kinda sowin'
More than just tomatoes she's growin'
'Cause granny's got a garden
